Qualifying: Qualifying will be 18 holes of stroke play on dates and at sites indicated under the section QUALIFYING SITES. The number of available places will be determined after entries close and the exempt field has been established.

Ties: At the qualifying sites, ties for qualifying places will be determined by sudden death playoff immediately following the conclusion of play and beginning on Hole #1 as shown on the official scorecard. A
lternates that haven't been decided at the conclusion of the qualifier or a playoff will be decided by matching scorecards. No refund of entry fee will be made to those who fail to qualify.

At the championship site, a "Sudden Death" playoff to determine the Champion will be held immediately upon conclusion of the tournament. Such playoff will start on a hole to be determined by the Committee and as published on the local rules sheet. After the Champion has been determined, all other ties not yet settled, including those involving individuals participating in the playoff for the Championship, will be resolved by matching scorecards of the final round in accordance with the USGA recommendation as outlined in The Rules of Golf, 2010-2011, Appendix I, page 124(c), except that if a tie still exists following this procedure then the procedure is repeated for the first nine holes, and if still tied, cards will be matched beginning with Hole #1 until the tie is broken.

 BOB JONES STATE TEAM

The STATE TEAM winner will be determined after the first 36 holes of play. The STATE TEAM is comprised of the low four players from the same home state. Players are asked to identify their state of residence, which may be different from their mailing address, in the box on the entry form titled "State of Residence".  If a student at a college or university, and you are paying as or being acknowledged as an "out of state student", this needs to be the legal state of residence of your parents.

If a tie for the low TEAM exists after 36 holes of play, the tie will be settled by the total of the third round scores of the four players comprising the teams at the conclusion of 36 holes, and if still tied, by fourth round scores of those same players. If still tied, by matching scorecards of the final round, using the total of the four players' scores for each hole, in accordance with the USGA recommendation as outlined in The Rules of Golf, 2010-2011, Appendix I, page 124(c), except that if a tie still exists following this procedure then the procedure is repeated for the first nine holes.  If a tie still exists, then scorecards will be matched using total scores of the players until the tie is settled.

If a tie exists after 36 holes of play for the four TEAM MEMBERS, the third round score of the players tied will be used to settle the tie, and if still tied, the fourth round scores.
